Procedure in case of death

When a death occurs in the house, it is necessary to call the emergency service at number 112, and the doctor on duty and the coroner will determine the fact of death by examination.
After the coroner's examination, the family calls the Emergency Service of Monte Giro d.o.o. to the number 099/5-52-52-52 or to the number 052/541-111. The Monte Giro emergency service accepts the deceased every day throughout the year.

When a death occurs in a hospital, nursing home or other institution, the family immediately calls the Emergency Service of Monte Giro d.o.o. to the number 099/5-52-52-52 or to the number 052/541-111.

After transporting the deceased to the mortuary, the closest family must come to Monte Giro d.o.o., Kumičićeva 22, Pula, on weekdays from 07:00 to 15:00, or on Sundays from 08:00 to 11:00, in order to arrange and organise the funeral. telephone announcement to the Duty Service for arrival on Sunday).
In order to organise the funeral, it is necessary to bring personal documents of the deceased (identity card or passport).

At the request of the family, the selection of a coffin or urn, the making of wreaths and arrangements, the making of obituaries, help in choosing a musical accompaniment, the use of a public address system, transportation to other places or abroad, and the like are carried out.

If the deceased is buried at the City Cemetery in Pula or the local cemetery in Štinjan, a burial site is required, which the family may or may not have previously leased.

If the family does not have a burial site, it can be decided to lease a new burial site, which will be resolved during the organisation of the funeral. Payment for the lease of a new grave site is always made in advance and in full.
